John David Villarreal
Hello! My name is John David Villarreal, and I am a senior at Rice University pursuing a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a specialization in Computer Engineering. My primary coursework as part of my Electrical and Computer Engineering major involves classes in Computer Architecture, Computer Design, Embedded Systems, and Digital Systems. I have done research in the RISC-V (Reduced Instruction Set Computer, Version 5) Instruction Set Architecture under Ray Simar as well as research in FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) Programming for controlling trapped ions under Guido Pagano. Additionally, I interned at AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) where I worked as a Systems Level Test intern.
